Cute $5 Jeans?!

DENIM SALE! Your eyes aren't fooling you. Right now at Wetseal, you can get their "celebrity" jeans 2-for-1 at $10...making each pair $5. Now those are cheap jeans! You can even mix and match the "2-for-1" items and get a clearance hoodie, shoes, or shirt instead of a second pair of jeans. I was pleasantly shocked today when I walked in looking for a summer dress thinking I would wish the rain away and saw these on the sale racks in the back of the store. These jeans look really cute on, too! I must tell you that I'm not sure if the same 2-for-1 deal is going on at their website, www.wetseal.com, but I do know that the site has these jeans on sale for $10. I would definitely hurry because these babies are gonna go quick.

Gucci vs. Bargains

Why spend the next 4 month's rent on a chic black and white Gucci dress when you can get one for an hour or two's worth of pay? Allow me to demonstrate with the following Gucci dress:

White etamine print cotton piquet decollette fold dress. Gucci $1995.00

Why is this dress expensive?

  • Expensive celebrity endorsements
  • Expensive runway shows
  • Expensive print ads (models, production, media placements)
  • Expensive marketing
Who ends up paying for all of this branding? The consumers that buy into it. Allow me to present some inexpensive options, which don't look exactly like this dress, but are still cute:

Have You Been to Marshalls Lately?

Their new Shoe Megashop is fantastic! The new layout kind of reminds me of my favorite shoe store, DSW. Marshalls still charges significantly less than department stores and has added great brands like Nine West to GUESS to their lineup. It's the best of both worlds! They also provide loads of foot mirrors all over the department (you can never have enough foot mirrors). Just don't try to bring a pair of shoes into the fitting room because the old lady attendants tend to get a little irate about that. FYI: Marshalls, by law, can't mention which designers they carry on their website and doesn't offer online shopping either. Sounds like a good excuse to go for a drive, get a frappuccino, and shop on...

Cute Wedges For Less than $40!

Wedges are a style staple because they're cute, add height, and are versatile shoes. Match them to a sundress, bikini or casual skirt. I just ordered the white, but also I like the ones with some color in them.
